5 Questions with Kaitlyn Anderson

Jeff Cotton interviews Kaitlyn Anderson.

Q1) You cross the border and make effort to see Jeff Coston on your golf. Why?

Kaitlyn: I really like the way that Jeff explains things to me! He makes things clear by showing me, and then I do it! We watch my swing on videos so I can really see what I am doing and what I need to change so it helps me to improve faster!  He is also so supportive and really believes in me!

Coston Blog, August 2017 – “Bunker Lesson”

I just gave another “Bunker Lesson” today. I could almost feel the tension rise as my client stepped into what they called “the TRAP”. I mentioned the first golfer who coined the word TRAP for BUNKER wasn’t very good at that aspect of the game.

Bunker play definitely has some technique; no question. Good bunker play, as in any aspect of the game is proper mindset also.  Bunker practice is usually an afterthought. Seldom practiced; usually as a 911 emergency rather than 411 information.

Coston Shoots 62 to Win Senior Oregon Open!

Jeff Coston made 10 birdies and no bogeys the final round to post 68-70-62 to win his fifth Senior Oregon Open.

“I hit the ball well all week. The last round I just let the putter go like Steph Curry shooting foul shots! Less try, less time, less think. Just let it go freely. A game worth playing. Golf can be so much easier when we learn to overcome interference and let it go!”

Coston will play the Northwest Open, August 21-23 at Wine Valley.

Coston Blog, July 2017

This month marks a celebration of 23 years Jeff Coston Golf Academy at Semiahmoo Golf Club! Being here with the members, staff and this super facility has been my honor and privilege! Thank you Semiahmoo for allowing me to spend much of my life here and hopefully much more.
Everyone wants to hit the golf ball further, no doubt! Hitting the golf ball straighter helps also. These last 23 years most everyone communicates, “I want to be more consistent; hit it farther; hit it straighter.”

We have, and will continue to, write about the proper plane, path and club face. We often over these 23 years have focused on shallowing the shaft on the downswing (most golfers have to steep an approach).

We have and will continue to communicate most golfers would be benefit with a slightly stronger grip in the fingers. Golfers also aim thier feet to the right of target and shoulders left; where feet left and shoulders right would be a better habit.
