As a Player

As a Player

I’ve had the amazing opportunity of playing golf my whole life. High school, college, every mini tour under the sun and then the PGA Tour. It’s all I’ve ever done. Playing and teaching golf are the only jobs I’ve ever had.

As a player on the tour, I had this inner interest of how the swing works. The whole idea of cause and effect. Cause and effect of why the ball flies where it does. Cause and effect of the swing itself. Path, plane, clubface, impact and the proper sequence of this masterpiece; “the golf swing.”

I’ve taken lessons from and observed many of the greatest and most recognized teachers in the world. I’ve played and spoken with many of the greatest players of our time about the swing, scoring, winning and the mental side of golf. I’m sure I drove most everyone crazy with all my questions. Call it a blessing or not but I’m wired to know why so I can do and teach how. Players on tour would later begin asking me to watch them hit shots and wondering what I thought. One day, a super player told me if I cut a cup in my backyard I could teach anyone to play golf. What he said will stick with me forever. That was many, many years ago.

The proper athletic golf swing is an essential spoke on the wheel of playing the golf of your dreams, but it is not the only spoke. Always remember that. I like to teach the whole game of golf. I’m big on the mechanics and technique of the swing. Trust me, I have more teaching aids than “Tin Cup.” Let’s keep it simple. Let’s remember and address all the “spokes of the wheel.” The whole game. Chipping, pitching, putting and bunker play. The stroke savers. Wedge play, the scoring clubs. Driving the golf ball, our offensive weapon. How do we take all these “spokes” and apply them when we are on the course? What really is the mental game and a physical routine? How do I break down a golf hole 18 times? Without these other spokes of the wheel we won’t roll very long or very far.

I’ve spent a lifetime learning how to control my golf ball, control my thoughts and win golf tournaments. I can and I will help you!
